Ubuntu 桌面培训，即 Ubuntu Desktop Course，是为家庭和办公室用户提供的 Ubuntu操作系统培训，以图形化操作完成几乎所有日常应用，并辅以适当的拓展延伸。通过该培训教材，用户将能很快地进入Ubuntu的世界。
当前基于Ubuntu 10.04的“Ubuntu 桌面培训”已经完成并可以免费下载。
经过八个团队成员长时间的努力，以及再次占用了 Aron Xu 和 Eleanor Chen 大量的聊天时间，Ubuntu 10.04 LTS桌面培训已经完成，现正式公布。
本课程是为家庭和办公室用户提供的 Ubuntu 操作系统培训。目标对象不必预先了解Ubuntu，但必须具备基本的计算机使用能力。本课程以模块为单位来组织。在教室中进行全日制学习的话，两天就可以学习完整个课程。另外，您可以按需选择主题和课程，本课程的关键部分可以在一天之内学完。
本次同时提供在线的 HTML 版本和可供下载的 PDF 版本，故不提供 CHM 格式。以下是这次修订带来的变化：

Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.0正式发布

Ubuntu Tweak 可以号称是Ubuntu下的优化大师，这个是我使用Ubunt的必装软件之一。Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.0的全新版本具有里程碑的意义。
这个版本带来了大量的更新：
网络同步功能的支持和对旧有功能的改善，同时还引入了一个全新的界面。
停止了对Ubuntu 9.04及往版本的支持。
默认界面使用系统默认主题及图标，并重新设计了界面布局。
从PolicyKit迁移至PolicyKit-1，不再有C代码，软件包再次统一为1个。
支持动态模块加载，将只装载适合于当前桌面的功能：例如在Xfce或KDE下使用Ubuntu Tweak，GNOME相关的设置将会看不见。
下载和安装：
在终端下运行下面这条命令：

纠结了一个晚上，终于把我自己的硬盘上XP和Ubuntu格掉了，正式和Ubuntu说再见了，并不是永别，说不定，哪天我来了心血还会装装玩玩。
Ubuntu系统已经基本会玩了，但没有深入。因为不是做开发的，也没兴趣研究的太深入。用Ubuntu所唯一追求的就是酷酷的效果，几乎天天都会有的软件更新，半年一次的重装系统。似乎开源的东西都只追求这个，大家都有极端的更新乐趣。Ubuntu系统确实不适合做家庭娱乐用（个人观点而已），那下面的输入法很难用，Linux版的QQ太怪异，腾讯已经很久没有更新过了，和最新的9.10版本有冲突。在Ubuntu下我只用一样东西，firefox。喜欢尝试新东西的朋友可以玩玩，安装是使用可以参考我写的Ubuntu教程之菜鸟飞飞，仔细阅读下，就能基本玩转Ubuntu了。
装了Win7专业版，采用的是硬盘安装方式，很简单，安装方法可以参考我写的Win7下全新安装新版本Win7和Windows XP下硬盘安装Win 7。当然，我的win7是盗版的，399的家庭基本版我是能接受，可是我老婆接受不了，没办法了。系统很容易就激活了。激活方法可以参考这篇文章，很全也很详细。我曾经电话激活过win7家庭高级版和序列号神key激活过专业版，大家好好运。推荐个win7的牛人，http://hi.baidu.com/guoguo6688，这人真是个大牛人，对win7研究的很透。

自从我买了Touch 3G 以后，就很少进入Ubuntu了。因为在Ubuntu下无法刷机，无法给我的小3装软件。
已经下好Windows 7 7260中英双语版，周末前会安装好，这个版本能免费用到明年6月份，还有一年多。那样就要格掉我的Ubuntu了。我是直接跳过了Vista，直接升级到Win7了。当然，我用Vista的时间并不好，可能还是高手，因为我是搞软件测试的，这两年多都在公司玩vista。
昨天在公司的电脑上装好了Win7，感觉确实不错，系统很稳定，速度运行也很快。在相同的机子上用Vista则没有这么好的感觉。

Firefox自动选择整个地址栏

在Windows下,点击Firefox的地址栏会自动选中整个地址,而Ubuntu下的Firefox默认下则不能，要在Ubuntu达到相同的功能,可以通过以下的步骤来实现:
1、在地址栏中输入“about:config”后回车。
2、在过滤器文本框中输入 “browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll”。
3、把值切换为“true”。
4、重启Firefox。

Ubuntu9.04无法开启桌面特效和3D特效

我的电脑是intel X3100的集成显卡，安装9.04以前的版本时都无须多设置就能直接开启桌面特效和3D特效。上次从8.10直接升级Ubuntu到9.04 Alpha5也没有出现问题，而这次却不行了。折腾了打半夜，终于google到设置方法：
1、使用2.6.30rc3linux内核，按照下列顺序下载并安装：

5、修改compiz的配置

新起一行，增加SKIP_CHECKS=yes，保存
6、运行 sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
安装compiz的配置管理器
7、重启系统，打开compiz fusion icon，在window manager中选择 compiz
8、成功打开桌面效果和3D
（以上在神舟F2370 X3100显卡上测试成功）

Ubuntu9.04可视化的新特性

折腾了大半夜，终于把Ubuntu9.04弄好了，新系统又代来了一些新的变化。
1、新的启动logo，细细的滚动条。
2、7步的安装步骤全部全屏化了，而非原来的只在桌面中间显示。
3、安转的时候有“自动登录”和“使用密码登录”2种选择。
4、全新的系统通知。

5、Nautilus中增加了文件排列方式，可以把文件按照”大小，类型，徽标等“进行排列。

6、在回收站中右键新增”永久删除，恢复“功能。

7、新增”系统垃圾清理“功能。

按照 Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) 官方发布的系统开发日程， Ubuntu 9.04 正式版将在今天对外发布。（虽然官方还没有更新，不过按照以往的下载地址，已经可以下载到正式版的镜像文件了。）Ubuntu的第十个版本，带来了更多惊喜，更新内容包括：

4月17日下午消息，Linux操作系统Ubuntu的商业赞助商canonical公司一位高层透露，该公司正计划在中国大陆成立公司，以加速进入这个三年后将成为全球最大电脑市场的国家。canonical 公司全球OEM服务总监Jon Melamut近日向新浪科技透露，该公司正计划在中国大陆成立公司，以加速进军这个市场。Jon Melamut预计，三年后中国将成为全球最大的电脑市场。Canonical公司2年前开始进入台湾市场。并在3个月前已经在中国台湾成立了公司，办公室位于著名的101大厦，目前已经有11名工作人员。
　　canonical公司中国大陆负责人于立强说，目前canonical在大陆有3名员工，主要提供商务和技术支持服务，计划在未来6 个月增加更多技术人员。据介绍，将加强与中国大陆的PPLive、QQ、迅雷等独立软件开发商(ISV)合作，让其软件能够运行在Ubuntu操作系统上。Canonical公司赞助的Ubuntu不仅仅是一个操作系统，还集成了各种常用的应用软件，让用户安装Ubuntu后即可使用。
　　Jon Melamut还透露，预计今年年底前，有几家国内的电脑厂商将会推出预装Ubuntu的电脑。目前，在中国市场，线下零售店能买到预装Ubuntu的电脑只有戴尔公司一家。

卸载Ubuntu

卸载之前请务必做好资料备份，防止万一发生意外。主要讲述Windows 与 Ubuntu组成的双启动系统中，卸载Ubuntu的方法。
目的：完全删除Ubuntu系统，保留windows，并将ubuntu分区转化为windows分区。
1、用 Ubuntu安装光盘启动电脑，在刚开始出现的启动菜单中选在“试用Ubuntu而不改变计算机中的任何内容(T)”。系统启动后，依次打开“System-系统管理-Partition Editor”。
2、找到ubuntu的交换分区,类似于linux-swap（有两把钥匙的图标，Filesystem为深红色小方框），右键点击，在弹出的菜单中选择“Swpoff”。
3、找到ubuntu分区，通常文件格式为ext3(非Fat,Fat32或NTFS分区格式，Filesystem为深蓝色小方框)，右键点击，在弹出的菜单中选择“Delete”，同样的方法也删调linux-swap分区。确保所有ubuntu分区都已被删除。然后点击中间的绿色对勾图标(Apply),在弹出的对话框中选Apply，删除完成后close关掉。
4、右击与刚刚删掉的Linux分区相邻的Windows分区（通常文件格式为Fat,Fat32或NTFS的分区），选择“Resize/Move”，在出现的对话框中，拖动滚动条右边的黑色小三角图标到最大位置（直至Free Space Following中的数字变为0），点“Resize/Move”，然后点击中间的绿色对勾图标(Apply),在弹出的对话框中选Apply。开始将删除掉的linux分区与Windows分区合并。完成后close关闭。
5、将windows安装光盘放入光驱启动电脑，光盘内容加载完成后，选择到原来系统所在的硬盘分区，按回车键进入，然后按Esc取消，按两次F3键退出，重起后就能正常进入Windows了。

关于挂载/home分区

在重装系统到硬盘分区步骤的时候，保留/home分区，将swap，/，/boot分区删掉重新分割。找到原来的/home分区，双击。在弹出的菜单“编辑分区”中，“新建分区容量”保持不变，在“用于”中选择到你原来的分区格式（通常为Ext3文件格式），不勾选“格式化分区”，“挂载点”选择“/home”，确定。分区完成。
这样依旧使用原来的home分区并且不格式化，原来/home中的资料都不会丢失。
注意：在安装的时候输入用户名的时候一定要和原来的用户名相同，这样新建立得/home文件夹就会使用原来的文件夹，对/home下的文件都具有读/写权限。
如果更改了用户名：如果原来的用户名是A，而重装系统后使用的用户名是B。依旧按照上面的分区方法进行分区。等安装完成后，进入系统。打开“Places-计算机-Filesystem-home”，在home文件夹下，能找到以A命名的文件夹，你原来所有的资料都在这个文件夹下，将其相应的拷贝到B文件夹对应的目录下就好了。
打开A文件夹，按Ctrl+H键，显示隐藏和配置文件，把你看到的所有文件删除。这样就只剩下一个空的A文件夹了。至于如何删掉A文件夹呢？这个我还不知道，没权限，用LiveCD启动也无法删除。

再说Ubuntu分区

这里只针对电脑是由Windows与Ubuntu组成的双启动系统而言，如果电脑是单一Ubuntu系统则没必要遵守这个分区规则。
Swap 1G&2G(内存2倍大小)
/ 10G-15G
/boot 128M
/home 最大剩余空间
前面三个分区的顺序随意调整，但确保/home分区在最后面或最前面。
这样分区的好处：保持硬盘空间的连续性，方便调整/ , /swap , /boot 分区大小。在重装系统的时候，可以把swap，/boot， /home分区删掉，这样未分区的硬盘空间还是连续的，方便重新调整大小。保留/home分区不动，用户资料不会丢失。当然，如果你以后重装系统的时候不会重新调整分区大小，也没必要遵守这个规则。

删除Ubuntu系统

When used on a dual-boot computer, the following steps will restore the Windows boot loader and then remove the Ubuntu partitions。

1. Insert your Windows installation CD and boot from it. When the initial installation choices menu appears, hit r to get to the Recovery Console. Select your Windows partition when prompted, and enter the Administrator password when prompted (if you didn’t set an administrator password, just hit Enter ).
（插入Windows系统安装盘启动电脑，在安装选择菜单出现的时候，按R键进入系统修复模式，然后选择到你的Windows分区，回车）
2. Type the following commands, the last of which will reboot your computer:

3. You should now be able to boot into Windows when the computer is rebooted, but to delete the Ubuntu partitions and enlarge the Windows partition you’ll need to boot from your Ubuntu CD and use Gparted. Select the Try Ubuntu option from the Ubuntu installer boot menu and once Ubuntu is up and running, click System ! Administration ! Partition Editor.

4. Look for your Ubuntu swap partition in the list—it will probably be identified as linux-swap. Right-click it and then select Swapoff from the menu that appears.

Right-click the NTFS (Windows) partition and select Resize/Move.Then, in the dialog that appears, click and drag the right-edge of the graphical representation of the partition until it fills the disk. Click the Resize/Move button. Then click the Apply button in the main Gparted window. Note that if you see an error during NTFS resizing, it’s likely you didn’t shutdown Windows properly the lastBtime you used it. Reboot into Windows and run a chkdsk. Then repeat this step.
7. There’s one last thing to take care of—getting rid of the Windows boot menu we introduced when restoring theWindows boot loader. Using My Computer, browse to the root of C:\ and right-click boot.ini (ensure you have chosen to show invisible files in Tools ! Options). Click Properties and remove the check from the Read Only box. Then open :\boot.ini in Notepad, and change the timeout=30 line to read timeout=0. Save the file and reboot to test.

修正视频播放

If you find video playback is distorted or jumpy, open a terminal window and type gstreamer-properties. In the program window that appears, select the Video tab and, in the Plugin dropdown list beneath Default Output, select X Window System (No Xv).

开启root账户

Then close the program and log out and back in again as root (provide root as your username). Note that running a GUI as root is about as dangerous as it gets but, then again,it’s your computer!

If you’ve having trouble logging into your GNOME desktop, first see Tip 109. If that doesn’t work, you can try deleting your GNOME desktop configuration files and starting again. This is possible because, if GNOME doesn’t find configuration files where they should be, it will automatically create some afresh. Deleting these files is very radical because it will delete all your desktop settings, plus those for GNOME applications (although your Evolution mail and account settings will remain because they’re stored in the .evolution folder). However, if you have no other choice… Log out of the desktop and then switch to a new virtual console ( Ctrl + Alt + F2 ). Then login and type the following:
rm -rf .gnome-2
Then switch back to GUI mode ( Ctrl + Alt + F7 ) and login as usual.
